Celebrating Baby’s first year is one of my favorite milestones (truly a must have).
So much takes place in the course of one year–
Their first smile. Sitting up for the first time. Exploring, trying (and spitting out) new foods.

How do I reserve my cake from Cloud 9 Confections or floral design from Lily Bella Floral?
If you are interested in a cake or floral creation, let me know and I can connect you with Beth or Yelena to design your custom item. On the day of our session, I will pick up your cake for you or Yelena will deliver your florals to my studio. That’s it! No worries about storage or transportation.
How much does a One Year Session cost?
With each session there is a creative fee, but there is a cost savings when you join my Membership. This membership includes 4 or more sessions, and is the perfect way to celebrate the big (and little) milestones. You can find investment details here.
When should I schedule my One Year Milestone Session?
If you are planning on using the photos during their birthday party or other special event, plan on scheduling your session at least one month prior to their celebration. That way we have plenty of time to meet your needs. If you do not have a specific event, we can be a bit more flexible; any time between one month before their birthday and one month after is perfect.
Where does a Cake Smash Photo Shoot take place?
I highly recommend my cozy home studio for this On Year Milestone Session! We can easily work around their sleep schedule and with the lighting I have available, we’re not impacted by sunlight. My studio is also a contained, safe environment and isn’t altered by rain or other weather concerns!
Who is in the One Year Milestone Session?
Your one year old is definitely the star of the show, but this session is also a wonderful time to bring the whole family (even grandparents!) to join in the fun. I highly recommend Mama to be in (at least) some of these photos too. I understand it is tempting to take yourself out of the limelight, but I can promise you that you won’t regret having these memories for lifetimes to come. So let’s do your hair and makeup and pick out a beautiful dress. You will treasure these memories from your little one’s first birthday.
What should I bring to the Cake Smash Photo Shoot?
Definitely a change of clothes! 😁 I would recommend an extra outfit for baby and for parents in case we have a flying cake or anyone gets messy before needing to move on with your day. You can also bring your child’s favorite mess-free snack to encourage them to sit in one spot or even place them on top of the cake to pique curiosity.
If you would like, you can bring a treasured toy for your little one to snuggle with. I have a basket of neutral, wooden toys for babies too. This is a stress-free process, Mama. You don’t need to buy a bunch of stuff to fill the photos with. Keep it simple and keep attention on Baby.
What if my baby has an allergy or dietary restrictions?
If your baby has an allergy or limitations in their diet, please let me know! We can get creative with a gluten-free donut or a delicate bowl of strawberries. We can still celebrate!
Baby’s First Year is a milestone that should not be missed. We’ll capture all of those tiny details that encompass your little one and who they are.
