THE MOTHERHOOD ANTHOLOGY RETREAT | REFLECTIONS

I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Motherhood Anthology retreat in Nashville a couple weekends ago, and I am so thankful for my time there! I stayed at this beautiful farm house near Franklin, TN, with 9 other photographers as well as our leaders and TMA founders Jenny Cruger, Allison Craig, and Kim Box. It was such a dream to have 3 days in this beautiful home with, as my new friend Esther Ziegler put it, "a bunch of cheerleaders in neutral, cozy clothes", sharing ideas, being inspired and empowered, and learning from some of the best in the business of motherhood portraiture. It was also a much needed time to rest and recharge and plan for the year to come. If you're a motherhood photographer, I encourage you to check out the Motherhood Anthology community on Facebook, as well the Motherhood Anthology Membership. The monthly education and daily encouragement from this group is priceless.
Here are some of my photos from the retreat. (As well as a few from my new friends, as credited.) I hope you enjoy this little glimpse of our time in Nashville.

Where 2 or more photographers are gathered, there will be impromptu photo shoots. We had fun taking head shots for each other (and maybe a little less fun actually having our own head shots taken... lol).
Kim Box, co-founder of Indie Print Co, brought along heirloom album samples in just about every cover material + color combination possible. No surprise here: they're all gorgeous. (Kim, I'm sorry if I got a little drool on your albums!)
Our first portrait session was this adorable family in Jenny's field. They were such good sports with a dozen of us snapping away around them, and on such a cold night!
